It's like the story of the bunny rabbit in the mailbox
+1 immunity points coming into the finale to Mike and Maryanne for having idols in their pocket, even if neither were required (though Maryanne's was a big moment for the jury!)
Combined reward + immunity challenge goes to Mike, for his first solo win - And he picks Jonathan to come down to Olive Garden with him. One piece away from Lindsey! Dropping that plank cost her dearly, as we see at tribal.
Anyone have their bets placed on Romeo winning final immunity? Anyone? (+10 immunity points!)
What a dominant performance at final tribal by Maryanne - She really won the game with her performance there, swaying the jury from leaning towards Mike. Mike took too long to key into what the j...
Maryanne's got a Maryplanne (subtitle: Where art thou Romeo?)
+1 immunity point to Maryanne, Omar, and Lindsey for starting off the episode with an idol in hand! Yes the point goes to Omar, even though he handed the idol back to Mike quickly. Omar makes a quick double play winning individual reward, but elects to bring everyone along except Lindsey and Jonathan. (+5 reward for Omar, +2 for the rest who were chosen).
Immunity challenge, Lindsey pulls off a clutch win! (+7 individual immunity). Surely this time is Jonathan's time...right? Right?
Maryanne scores a huge +10 immunity points for using her extra vote so effectively - It made all the difference in the vote, and the points are well deserved! Knocking out such a strong player as O...
Sorry for another late week! Out visiting family, my apologies. Luckily, a fairly concise episode.
Mike and Maryanne have idols in their pockets, and Jonathan wins individual immunity! +1 point for Mike/Maryanne, +7 for Jon in Immunity.
Lindsay may not know the Monty Hall Problem, but pulls immunity out of the bag - She's getting 5 immunity points for finding an 'advantage'.
Drea, so close to having all the tools needed to get a guaranteed final 4! Lindsey's amulet becomes a full idol, so look forward to her 1 immunity point next week, as well as one for Omar while he holds Mike's idol
Wanna see my monkey run?
Sorry for the late results!! A quick summary:
Mike is the only one to start the episode with an idol in his pocket (+1), but Maryanne quickly rejoins the idol club (+5)
Lindsay "Never wins a challenge" goes beast mode and wins both challenges! +5 and +7 individual points in their respective categories. Omar and Mike are blessed with the survivor pizza pick (+2 each in reward points).
Hai gets sent home in a largely unanimous blindside, other than Romeo's shot in the dark protection.
See you next week!
Not feeling well, so a quick game log this time!
Individual immunity: Jonathan and Hai
Team reward: Jonathan, Lindsay, Maryanne, Tori, Drea
Starts episode with idol: Drea, Mike, Maryanne
Played idol: Drea, Maryanne
Love that Tori and Rocksroy get to spend every day together <3
Wonder what would have happened had Tori drawn safety, and then Lindsay does as well. Rocks for a fully immune tribe?? Who knows what papa Jeff has up his sleeve!
Caught Red Handed
As a fellow disliker of PB&J, I'm glad to see it pay off for someone - Drea does what Xander could not, and finds the advantage hidden under the sit out bench, adding to her ever growing collection of advantages. (+5 for the beware find). Jonathan, Tori, Rocksroy, Mike, and Chanelle clutch a reward win (+3), stolen right out from under Omar.
Drea acts on her beware advantage quickly, and finds the Knowledge is Power advantage (+5). The caught red handed twist is cool, especially considering she *did* get caught. Tori's on the case, and was quick to spread word.
Speaking of Tori, she's the challenge queen so far this season! Back to back solo immunity wins! (+7)
Hai gets the episode title, piggybacking on the roadtrip a...
We've tweaked the hourglass. It's now sponsored by Applebee's
No surprise, the team assigned Jonathan rolls the challenge, though the other half seemed to rip through the puzzle fairly quick. I admit I was sweating, though as we all expected this episode, winning immunity isn't all it's cracked up to be. (+4 immunity points and +3 reward for Jon, Maryanne, Hai, Tori, Lydia). Lucky Lindsay gets chosen for reward, and also immunity, earning 2 points in both categories.
I wish I could give Drea points for nailing what advantage Rocksroy would receive on exile island. But I can't! But I can give Rocksroy +5 immunity points for his advantage.
Double episode, double title. Romeo and Rocksroy earn 3 confessional points each for 'you can't hide f...
Strunk Train, Final Stop
First off, a quick +5 points to Drea for finally finding her tribe's Beware advantage, quickly followed by an idol activation for Drea, Mike, and Maryanne (+5 points for 'finding' an idol). I'm sure Maryanne is relieved to finally be done talking about that bunny in the mailbox, though she pulled it off well! Mike's soccer statement was.. less eloquent. But just as effective.
Blue tribe keeps the momentum going with a breezy reward + immunity win, with Orange tribe just squeaking in thanks once again to Jonathan. See you for another unnecessarily messy tribal green tribe.
Anyone else confused about the vote thrown Mike's way? Though given Mike's reaction, will be interesting to see how it plays out. All tribes are...
Outwit, Overplay, Don't last
All in all a fairly straight forward episode scores wise: Jonathan carries his tribe to reward and immunity challenge wins, while the green tribe mercifully dodges back to back tribal by the skin of their teeth.
Blue tribe's back at it, and a clear 4-1 vote turns into a mess when secrets are shared. Loose lips sink relationships, and good moves by Tori to stir up the drama and fight another day!
No episode title confessional points this week, as Jeff is not a draftable player.
Aquaman
Maryanne finds herself the beware advantage, giving her a chance of scoring her idol. Despite having perhaps the most awkward phrase to use so far, I feel like she pulled it off well and it fit in perfectly with her character. (+5 immunity points)
Dang, John beasted that challenge solo. Wild that he's such a physical threat, it wraps around to him being an absolute necessity for his tribe. Will he do what Terry couldn't in Panama? Orange tribe picks up a runaway immunity and reward win, while blue tribe sneaks a second place finish.
A *wild* tribal, largely due to Chanelle risking her vote after convincing Omar there was no chance of her doing so. He's got a surprise waiting for him, and it's not the extra vote he's expecting to ...
Zach? From Ika tribe?
Poor Hai, he was really relying on those rice and beans. At least he did his best to come to terms with the possibility of eating meat on the island, titling the episode on the way with his Good and Guilty feeling. (+3 confessional points)
Mike picks up the beware advantage, and while he swore to keep *idols* secret, he never said anything about keeping beware advantages secret. So the secret's out. Will be interesting to see if the rest of the tribe can convince him to keep his idol suppressed to deny the other tribes. (+5 immunity points for mike for finding an advantage. Will get full idol points if idols get power).
Joint reward and immunity challenges can be big swings in the score if you're on the outs, and Or...
Drop the 4 and keep the 2
We're back in Fiji, with 18 new castaways ready to vie for a million bucks and the title of sole survivor! Is it just me, or does this cast seem especially laden with superfans? Everyone this episode gets at least 2 confessionals, nice to get to know a bit about everyone this early, especially in the three tribe format. Maryanna says the episode title in her rollercoaster analogy to pick up a few more confessional points.
The game starts with a bang with a reward challenge, but is brought to a halt by a tempting advantage - One Hai, Drea, and Lindsay all take (+5). While Drea and Lindsay agree that fake blood is overkill and way too suspicious, Hai is already elbow deep in it. Looking forward to seeing how that o...
