Hoshoryu looked like he was headed for kadoban stays most of the September basho. He avoided it with some nifty wins, including a Day Fifteen victory over fellow Ozeki Kotozakura. His good matches make you wonder how isn't a Yokozuna, while his bad matches make you wonder how he ever made Ozeki. But he's here for a reason, and he is just entering his prime. The best could be yet to come.
