As a teenager in the 1980s, the hooded sweatshirt purchased is likely in good condition today because A&F makes high quality clothes. Sure they also made hard to remove the smell cologne/perfume and wanted to dress everyone in as little (expensive) clothing as possible. Things have changed across the board, but not the quality of their clothes.
